The Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC) is dedicated to fostering the development, translation, and commercialization of molecular imaging probes and associated technologies.

CPDC works collaboratively with industry and academic partners to provide the expertise and infrastructure needed to develop and manufacture molecular imaging probes. An important part of Canada's health system, CPDC provides a reliable, daily supply of imaging probes to hospitals and leading research teams. CPDC's areas of expertise include pre-clinical development of new probes, regulatory affairs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and maintaining the systems and infrastructure needed to achieve Health Canada approval for clinical trials and the commercialization of innovative new products.

This is a 18 month contract role located in Hamilton, Ontario.  

Position Profile:

Reporting to the finance director, the Controller will be responsible for all key financial areas including budgeting, full-cycle accounting, monthly reporting and yearend audit. This is a hands-on role, responsible to provide leadership and coordination of all financial planning, as well as overseeing a small team of Accounting and Finance professionals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance an asset
  • 3 to 5 years in a Controller role
  • CPA, Accounting Designation preferred
  • Experience in a similar industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, R & D, manufacturing, biotech) an asset
  • Current knowledge of Canadian and US GAAP
  • Strong computer and Excel skills
  • A hands-on role in Finance activities and efficiencies
  • Demonstrated leadership/people management skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Effective analytical, communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Strategic and critical thinker with business acumen
  • Professional demeanour and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong time management, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Highly organized, self-managed with initiative
  • Flexible with a growing environment, including any spin-off companies.
