The Strategic Scientific Writer will combine medicine, science and technical writing to deliver concise documents for all stages of projects, from inception to market. The candidate will be proficient in forward and creative thinking and will be able to adjust the level and content of the texts based on the intended audience. The Strategic Scientific Writer is responsible for drafting external communications and will be adhering to most stringent quality requirements, policies and safety requirements, in a constant effort to provide best support to the organization with professionalism and integrity while striving for excellence and creativity to further enhance sites performances and customers' satisfaction.

  • Reviewing and Drafting term sheets/agreements on new external opportunities in conjecture with the Director Business Development.
  • Support on drafting grants and regulatory documents with direction from the Director Business Development.
  • Write and/or refine scientific content at numerous stages of development for various forms of documents and reports for publication in scientific journals.
  • Ensure a consistent style of presentation of external documents to maintain quality and ease of review, and adherence to company standards.
  • Work effectively with company document management system and related tools, templates, and procedures in order to ensure efficient and timely publishing of documents.
  • Support in creating regular and high quality presentations in various company forums including company and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Summarize scientific, clinical, financial, and market information with respect to transactions; in support of the development of business cases and overall assessment of transactions.
  • Ensure necessary scientific and editorial quality control checks are applied to all written materials.
  • Manage timelines for all required reporting, presentations, and publications.
  • Work with project teams to prepare requested documents according to company and agency guidelines in order to support drug development and marketing.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence and up to date knowledge of market trends and opportunities.
  • Execute publication searches, synthesize findings, and prepare summaries for internal distribution and stakeholder reports.
  • Maintain updated CPDC information on projects and developments so as to compose various texts on request.

 

  Education and experience 

  • Bachelor of Science or English required, with relevant writing experience.
  • 3 years relevant industry experience in medical writing in the healthcare industry or related area
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for concise and clear presentations. Good understanding of drug development process (discovery to market), clinical research, regulatory environment and medical terminology.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary environment;
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret scientific content and translate information for appropriate audience.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to find and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, consistency, clarity and accuracy.
  • Expert in word processing, flow diagrams, and spreadsheets. Excellent working knowledge of software programs in Windows environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving ability, to work simultaneously on multiple projects, and the ability to prioritize tasks leading to timely completion of high-quality documents.
  • Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical imaging and therapeutic areas considered a plus.
